DEATH OF MRS. E.E. TRUEX

Mrs. Jennie Truex, wife of E.E. Truex, prominent insurance agent of this city, died at 1:30 o'clock yesterday afternoon at Sale Hospital where she had been a patient for several weeks. Funeral services for her will be conducted by the Rev. R.F. Campbell, pastor of the Central Methodist Church, at at that church tomorrow morning at 11 o'clock. The body is to lie in state from 10 o'clock until the hour of the funeral. Pallbearers are to be W.E. Sims, L.P. Kelley, M.T. Rice, garland Price, L.D. Mitchell and burial is to be made in the IOOF Cemetery.

Mrs. Truex has been a highly respected citizen of Neosho for many years and was interested in some of the town's most worthy enterprises. Before her marriage she was Miss Jennie Gratz, Noel merchant. She was born in Amboy, Ill., in 1869. the family moved to Winterset, Ia., where the daughter was educated in public schools. Later she attended the University of Iowa.

Having a special talent for music, she went to Chicago for special study in violin in the Chicago College of Music, from which she was graduated with honors. She became an instructor in violin and taught in a number of colleges, among them being the old Scarrit College in Neosho.

She was married to E.E. Truex in Liberty, Mo., in 1898, and to them were born two daughters, Marcella who is now Mrs. Morrey of Pocatella, Idaho, and Mildred, now Mrs. E.J. Edson of this city. Mr. Truex moved his family here in 1906 and the parents have lived here since. Mrs. Truex was always deeply interested in music and gave private lessons in violin almost up to the time her health failed. After her children were grown and married, Mr. and Mrs. took some interesting and extensive trips which gave them much pleasure.

Mrs. Truex has been a prominent member of the Neosho Music Club for many years and was its president for two years. She was a valued member of the Neosho chapter Order of Eastern Star and was worthy matron last year. Deep regret at her passing and sincere sympathy for her husband and daughters are being expressed by their scores of friends.
