Mrs. Velma Dixon Moody, 86, died Sunday, July 27, 2008 in Greenville, SC.
Mrs. Moody was born in Demorest, Georgia on May 18, 1922 to Charlie Lily Dixon and Mattie Lula White.
She was a homemaker and a member of Millbrook Baptist Church.
Survivors include two sons, Douglas F. (Brenda) Moody of Aiken and Wade H. (Carla) Moody of Greenville, four daughters, Linda Moody-Robertson, Sandy (Mike) Rumph and Catherine Moody all of Greenville and Debbie Moody of Middlebury, VT and a daughter-in-law, Pam Moody of Steelville, MO. She is also survived by twelve grandchildren, Douglas (Amy) Moody II, Kim (Robbie) Purvis, Whitney (Billy) Murphree, Lauren Moody, Reagan Moody, Garrett Moody, Nick Moody, Susie (Blake) Haffer, Dylan Rumph, Linda Rumph, Lou Lessing and Sam Lessing and two great-grandchildren, Olivia Moody and Bailey Haffer.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Frank F. Moody a son, Larry Moody and a daughter Carol Moody.
A memorial service will be held Wednesday July 30, 2008 at 11:00 AM in the chapel of Shellhouse Rivers Funeral Home, 715 East Pine Log Rd., Aiken, SC.
The Reverend Doctor Robert Whaley will officiate.
She will be interred in a private family service in Sunset Memory Gardens.
