George Guinn Leath, July 13, 1922-Dec. 5, 2010, resident of Hillsboro, Oregon, passed away this past Sunday. He touched many lives in a life dedicated to God and service to others. George was born in Denton, Texas July 13th, 1922. He graduated from Baylor University and went on to earn a degree from Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary. During World War II, he served in the Navy as a Pharmacist Mate, First Class. In the mid 1950's, George moved his family to California, finally settling in San Jose where they lived for 49 years. George worked as a machinist in the aerospace industry for 33 years before retiring. He also dedicated his life to the church he helped establish 40 years ago, Baptist Temple. During this time he served as Associate Pastor, Treasurer and Deacon. George was preceded in death by his eldest son George Jr. He is survived by his wife of 65 years, Becky; devoted children Barbara (Bob), Randall (Terri), Tracy (Sheri), Teri (Brad) and grandchildren, Ian & Sam Leath, Sadie & Zachary Alloway and Cody Fox. He is also survived by his brother Jim and sister's Mary Nelle and Francis. His gentle loving spirit will be missed by all. Family and friends are invited to a funeral service on Friday, December 10, 10:00 am at Rosewood Community Church, 1397 W. Hedding St. in San Jose.
