A funeral mass for James E. "Jack" Lafitte, 84, will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, December 3, 2011 at St. Mary of the Pines Catholic Church. Officiating will be Father Thomas John. Interment with honors will follow with the U.S. Army Honor Guards in Forest Park West Cemetery. Visitation with the family will be held from 5:00 p.m. until vigil time at 7:00 p.m. Friday, December 2, 2011 at Rose-Neath's Southside Chapel.
Jack was born in Many, La. to Alice and W.E. Lafitte. He passed away on November 30, 2011. He was a resident of Shreveport, a retired Barber of B & N Barber Shop and a member of St. Mary of the Pines Catholic Church. Jack proudly served this country in the U.S. Army. He is preceded in death by his father, W.E. Lafitte, his mother, Alice Lafitte DeLatin and husband, Wallace; his former wife, Joy D. Lafitte; son, Thomas Michael Lafitte; grandson, Chad Lafitte; brother, W.E. Lafitte, II.
The family requests that memorials be made to St. Mary of the Pines Catholic Church or to the charity of donor's choice.
