The memorial service for Margaret Arlene Bowdoin will be at 1 p.m., Wednesday (Aug. 6, 2003) at the Grants Pass Mennonite Church on New Hope Road. Private family entombment will be at Hillcrest Memorial Park Mousaleum, Medford.

Mrs. Bowdoin, 82, of Shady Cove, died Thursday (July 31, 2003).

Memorial contributions may be made to the New Hope Christian School, 5961 New Hope Rd., Grants Pass, Or. 97527.

She was born in Erwin, SD, to Arden Mortimer and Hazel Julia (Coulson) Tyrrell. On Aug. 24, 1941 on Rogue River, she married Pastor Joseph Avery Bowdoin, who survives.

Mrs. Bowdoin worked as a bookkeeper/accountant at Medford print shops. For 18 years she worked as the Librarian at Shady Cove and Elk Trail schools. She moved to Shady Cove from Ashland over 50 years ago, and to Grants Pass about two months ago.

She and Joseph attended faithfully the Rogue Valley Bible Chapel in Medford. She also enjoyed all family activities, hosting missionaries, embroidering, quilting and the outdoors.

In addition to her husband Joseph, she is survived by two sons, Terell, Grants Pass; Stephen, Dundee, Or.: two daughters, Sharon Esau, La Vera, Spain; Karen Olson, Three Hills, Alberta, Canada; three sisters, Arletta (Terri) Bullock, Escondido, Calif.; Maxine Stearns, Lafayette, Calif; Mabel Tyrrell, Grands Pass; a brother, John Tyrrell, Grass Valley, Calif; 22 grandchildren; and 14 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a daughter, Janice Eva Mildren, and a grandson, Andrew David Olson.
