Word was received in Red Bluff today that Mrs. Chipman widow of Judge N. P. Chipman, passed away at her home in Sacramento this morning. She was a resident of Red Bluff for many years. Mrs Alice Smith of San Francisco is an only child.

FUNERAL OF MRS. N. P. CHIPMAN IS TO BE SATURDAY
The funeral of Mrs. N. P. Chipman will be held at the family residence 2131 M street, Sacramento, (California) tomorrow at 2 o'clock. It is expected that a number of Red Bluff people will attend. A Sacramento paper, in speaking of her death has the following: Attended by the members of her family, Mrs N.P. Chipman, wife of General Chipman, presiding justice of the third district court of appeal, passed away at 12:30 o'clock yesterday at the Sisters hospital in this city, following an operation for appendicitis last Tuesday. Mrs. Chipman had been ill but a very few days before her demise and her death comes as a shock to friends in every part of the state, particularly in the district of 35 counties presided over by his appellate court. With her at death were Justice Chipman, Mrs F. A. Cline of San Francisco, together with Mr. Cline and daughters, Mrs Chester F. Smith of San Francisco and Mrs. James Finnell of Chico. Justice and Mrs. Chipman had been married 50 years. She was 68 years of age and a native of St. Louis, MO.
