Frank Lestina Last Rites Held

Funeral services for Frank August Lestina, 82, were held Tuesday afternoon at 1:45 o'clock from the Schultz Funeral home to St. Paul's Ev. Lutheran church at 2 o'clock with Rev. R.C. Schlueter officiating.

Burial was in the City cemetery.

Mr. Lestina died at his home Saturday night, Aug. 9, at 7:25 o'clock from a heart ailment. He had been confined to his home since last January. He first was stricken with heart trouble eight years ago.

He was born a son of Joseph Lestina and Catherine, nee Lestina, Aug. 21, 1875, at Chicago, Ill. He came to Clayton county when a boy with his parents, who went to live on a farm in Giard township.

He was married to Martha Schroeder at Monona by Rev. J. Graening, Jan. 13, 1903. They went to live on the farm on which Mr. and Mrs. LeRoy Kottman now live. They retired to Monona twenty years ago. They celebrated their golden wedding anniversary Jan. 13, 1953.

He became a member of St. Paul's Ev. Lutheran church May 16, 1920. He was a member of the Brotherhood.

Surviving are his wife, two daughters, Mrs. LeRoy (Alice) Kottman and Mrs. Arno (Hazel) Blumhagen; one son, Walter of Ossian; five grandchildren and eight great grandchildren.

Music at the services was provided by Don Sabbann, soloist. Mrs. George Heins Jr. was the organist.

Pallbearers were: John Seglar, James Cunningham, Karl Erb, Vern Zieman, Emil Aulerich and Charles Ulish.

Mr. and Mrs. Earl Ziemer of Fairmont, Minn.; Mr. and Mrs. Vance Macha of New Hampton; Mr. and Mrs. Harry Macha and daughter of Calmar; Mrs. Mary Suddendorf and Mr. and Mrs. Harland Kottman and Sheila of McGregor; Mrs. Albert Schroeder and Mrs. Dorothy Pruess of Strawberry Point; Mr. and Mrs. Dan E. Schweikert of Des Moines and Mrs. Raymond Suckow of Hawkeye.
