I was told that my grandmother Clara Ophelia Martin Smith was buried at New Salem Cemetery along with other members of her family (which were Indian). Her mother was Clara E. Byrd who was married to a David Martin. I Have been to the cemetery and found both her grave and a brother or two and I found Clara Byrd too I think. I also have been corresponding with Arnold's too. All are from Mississippi. My brother and I were told that the Indians picked up my grandmother and buried her with her people and her husband Willis Ugermany Smith is buried at Union Church by my mother and dad Lester Carol Smith and Mary Ellen Smith. My mother was a Smith and married a Smith which was common in that day.

Note: this was a message I received on my FAG Home Page "Added by Anonymous on Jan 31, 2018 9:46 AM"! Because of the extent of the information I am adding it to the memorial but have not confirmed the information. Please also note that the parents in the bio or not the same as the parents on a flower token left on her bio; I do not know which one is correct.
