OBITUARY

On Friday, July 14, at 11:00 a.m., the Death Angel entered the home of John Wolf and claimed for its own the soul of his loving companion, Emma Adams Wolf.

Emma Adams, daughter of the late James and Elizabeth Adams, was born April 22, 1861 and died July 14, 1933, aged 72 years, two months, and 22 days. She was the eldest daughter of a family of 14 children.

She was married to John Wolf, March 8, 1893 at Moorefield. Together they shared life's joys and sorrows for 40 years. To this union were born seven children, three daughters, Mrs. Hulda Brindley, Mrs. Leona Curry of near Braytown, Mrs. Cornelia Brinson of Hicks, IN, (sic) Lewis of Canaan, IN, Isaiah and Raymond at home. The eldest son, Elbert, gave up his life at Camp Custer, Michigan, during the world war.

Emma united with the Ebenezer M. E. Church during her early girlhood, was truly converted and living ever faithful to its teachings.

She was well known by everyone in the community, and noted for her unselfish nature, her kindly heart, and her untiring devotion to her family and friends.

When infirmity came upon her and she was forced to give up her active labor of love, her family was ever attentive, loving and tender, trying to repay a sweet mother's love and care.

Mrs. Wolf endured her afflictions with wonderful patience, sweetness and fortitude, and to dea ones gave expression of her readiness to go when the Master called.

She leaves to mourn her passing, a loving companion; six children, as named; three sisters, Mrs. Carrie Wolf of Madison; Mrs. Florence Brooks of North Madison; Mrs. Mary Detraz of Vevay; three brothers, Harrison, Alfred and Anthony of near Moorefield; also seven grandchildren besides a host of relatives and friends by whom she will be sadly missed.

A voice is heard on earth of kinsfolk weeping,
The loss of one they love;
But she has gone where the redeemed are keeping
A festival of love,
The mourners trong the way and from the steeple
The funeral bell tolls slow;
But on the golden streets the holy people
Are passing to and fro,
And crying as they meet "Rejoice! another
Long awaited for has come."
The Saviour's heart is glad: A loving mother
Has reached the Father's home.
