Aviator. He was an accomplished pioneer mail express pilot who also flew for TWA Airlines in the 1920s. From 1935 to 1941, he was the personal pilot for Generalissimo Chiang Kai-Shek, President of free China. In 1942, he published an autobiography called "I Flew for China" a best selling book of his experience with President Chiang Kai-Shek.
