He and his wife, the former Gertrude Danner, resided at 1003 S. Jefferson St., Alentown. His first wife, the former Bertha Brensinger, died in 1951.
Wentz donated a rocking bed for the treatment of paralysis patients in Allentown Hospital in 1951. It was the first bed of its kind to be included in the equipment of any Lehigh Valley Hospital.
Born in Walnutport, he was a son of the late Charles and Lizzie (Yeahl) Wentz.
A member of Bethel Bible Fellowship Church, Emmaus, he was elder emeritus, long time church treasurer and Sunday school teacher for 45 years. He also had been treasured of the Bible Fellowship Church of Eastern Pennsylvania.
He was an honorary alumnus of Pinebrook Junior College, East Stroudsburg.
Survivors with his widow are two daughters, Dorothea, wife of George Yeager of Center Valley, and Anna Mae, wife of Richard Knauss of Allentown; four sons, Roy of Lenhartsville R. 1, Paul I. Jr. of Zionsville R. 1, a brother, Randolph of Emmaus R. 1 and 39 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren.
Services will be at 2 p. m. Sunday in Bethel Church, Emmaus. Calling hours will be from 12:30 p.m. Sunday until time of services. Arrangements are being made by the Horace W. Schantz Funeral Home, 3rd and Main streets, Emmaus.
