Actress. She made her acting debut on Broadway at the age of seven in Peter Ibbetson.

She appeared in numerous films from the 1920s through the 1950s. Delicate and beautiful, she is perhaps best remembered as Titania, Queen of the Fairies in A Midsummer Night's Dream with James Cagney (1935). Other films include The Story of Louis Pasteur (1935), Anthony Adverse with Fredric March and Olivia de Havilland (1936), Marie Antoinette with Norma Shearer (1938), and The Little Princess with Shirley Temple (1939). She was named as a WAMPAS Baby Star. She was the wife of Hollywood film producer Buddy Adler and the mother of two children.
