The eldest son of Zephaniah Bryon and Elizabeth DeVeiuz, John came to Ohio from Pennsylvania on horseback, with Hannah riding behind him. All their worldly goods probably came on the same horse. They settled near South Salem, Ross County, Ohio. John Bryan made a trip back to Pennsylvania on business and when he came back, brought his wife a gift of a small brass kettle filled with salt. Both kettle and salt were valuable at that time. (From Juliana White D.A.R., Greenfiled Historical) (Submitted by Contributor #47441312)
