My grandfather, Robert served in the Civil War. He enlisted as a Private in Co E of the 6th WV Infantry on 18 Aug 1861 and was discharged on 10 Jun 1865. He served 3 years 9 months and 22 days.

Robert was married first to My Grandmother, Jemima Summers and after her death he married Zana Snodgrass who was a widow of Thomas Duty. After Zana's death Robert married her sister Florence Snodgrass, widow of George Cunningham. Florence and Cora, a daughter of his first marriage didn't get along at all. When Robert passed away, Florence buried him in the IOOF cemetery all by himself as Jemima is buried in the Mt Zion church cemetery where he should have been buried. Zana is buried with her first husband and Florence is buried with her first husband all in the IOOF cemetery.
