Mrs. Ethel Cox Altman
Hemingway, Jan. 19 - Mrs Ethel Cox Altman, 63, widow of J. B. Altman, Sr., died early this morning at her home in the Vox community after a long illness.
Funeral services will be conducted at 3 o'clock Saturday afternoon from the graveside in Eaddy Forn Cemetery by the Rev. Thomas Evans of Florence assisted by the Rev. Marion Cannon and the Rev. Willard Neese.
Mrs. Altman was the daughter of the late William and Jane Stone Cox of near Hemingway.
Survivors include 5 sons, J. B., Jr., Sam C., Widot, and Richard Altman all of Johnsonville and Paul Altman of Cherryville, NC. 4 daughters, Mrs Mattie Stone of Hemingway, Mrs. Rena Atkinson of Johnsonville, Mrs. Fairey A. Chandler of Kingstree and Mrs. Floride McCullough of Johnsonville; a sister, Mrs. Emily McElveen of Hemingway; 2 brothers, E. Jasper Cox and W.
