Funeral services for Andrew Jackson Snuffer, 59, of Crab Orchard, will be conducted this afternoon at 2:30 o'clock at the Brethern church in Crab Orchard, with the Rev. John Eller, pastor, and the Rev. E. R. Clower, of Fayetteville, officiating.
Snuffer died at 3 a.m. Saturday in a Beckley hospital, where he had been for the past month, of heart disease and complications, after an illness of six months.
Born in Crab Orchard on December 2, 1883, the son of Isaac Snuffer and Rowena Spangler, he was engaged in the lumber business for several years and was well known in the community.
He is survived by his wife, Bessie May Snuffer; one son, Orville Snuffer, of East Beckley; two daughters, Mrs. L. C. Terry and Mrs. Elmer Lilly, both of East Beckley; a grandson, Jackie Snuffer; one brother, Oliver Snuffer, of Portsmouth, Virginia; two sisters, Mrs. Effie Wood, of Beckley, and Mrs. Mattie Lilly, of Crab Orchard.
The body was removed to the home of his daughter, Mrs. L. C. Terry, in East Beckley, Saturday at 6 p. m., where it will remain until the funeral hour. Burial will be in the Calfee cemetery at Mount Tabor.
Active pallbearers will be the following nephews of the deceased: Ernest Lilly, Mason Fink, Garner Fink, Billy Winer, Clifford Snuffer, Audie Fink, Herbert Tolley, and Eddy Winer.
