Mrs. Margie Slate Beverly, 75, of Byerly Street, Mount Airy, a retired employee of Renfro Mills in Mount Airy and the wife of Elmer Beverly, died early Friday morning in Northern Hospital of Surry County. Born June 30, 1915 in Surry County, she was the daughter of Alex and Ellen Hooker Slate and of the Baptist faith. Surviving are her husband, Elmer Beverly of the home; three children, Don Beverly, Jerry Beverly and Mrs. Gail Beverly Coe, all of Mount Airy; 10 grandchildren; and one sister, Mrs. Pearl S. Johnson of Mount Airy.
