Chancelor "Chance" Hunter Vandiver, age 20, Russellville, Ala., passed away Wednesday, Nov. 30, 2011, at Shoals Hospital.
Chance was an avid sports fan and he loved the Alabama Crimson Tide. He was dearly loved and will be greatly missed by his family and a multitude of friends. He loved to spend time with his Papaw Howard, his brothers and sisters and his Uncle Greg. He especially loved to watch football with his little brother, Shawn Jr. Chance lived his entire life in Franklin County and was a member of Bethsaida Baptist Church. He was a graduate of Russellville High School, class of 2010, and employed by Hines Tire Co. in Tuscumbia.
The funeral was held Dec. 4, 2011, at Bethsaida Baptist Church, with Brother Tony Gasaway and Brother Stanley Hargett officiating.
Survivors include his mother, Donna and step-father, Shawn Hines; father, Jeff Vandiver, all of Russellville; brothers, Patrick Hines, Shawn Hines Jr.; sisters, Brooke Vandiver, Hollie Hines; grandparents, Howard and Dr. Wanda Bradford, Russellville, Ed and Brenda Vandiver, Russellville, Wayne and Betty Hines, Tuscumbia, Dr. Gerald and Dr. Patricia Murray, Muscle Shoals; great-grandparents, Billy and Mary Quinn, Russellville, Christine Murray, Russellville.
He was preceded in death by grandfather, Hubert Murray, and a special great-uncle, Steve Quinn.
