Lewis David (L.D.) Aulvin, 88, a resident of Albion, Illinois, passed away at 9:20 a.m. Monday, November 28, 2011 at Richland Memorial Hospital in Olney. He was co-owner of A & P Steel Fabrication Inc. in Colorado Springs, Colorado before moving back to Albion, Illinois. He was also a United States Army World War II Veteran.
Born in Albion, Illinois on June 8, 1923, L.D. was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Albion, the Albion Masonic Hermitge Lodge 356, and the American Legion Post 590 of Albion.
Survivors include his wife of 55 years, Thelma Ruth (Bowers) Aulvin of Albion and a son, Steve Aulvin and several nieces and nephews. He was united in marriage to his wife Thelma Ruth Bowers on November 17, 1956 in Colorado Springs, Colorado.
L.D. Aulvin was preceded in death by his parents, Lewis Grant Aulvin and Mamie Bond Aulvin, five sisters Lelah Aulvin Ostendorf, Fonderine "Fonnie" Aulvin Gill, Audrey Aulvin Bomze, Virdia Lee Aulvin and Lena Beatrice "Bea" Aulvin Horste, and two brothers, George Huber Aulvin and Harland A. Aulvin.
Services for Lewis D. (L.D.) Aulvin were arranged with Nale's Funeral Home in Albion, Illinois. Cremation was chosen and a memorial service will be held at the First United Methodist Church in Albion, Illinois on Saturday, December 10, 2011 at 2:00p.m., with visitation starting at 1:00 p.m. Burial of ashes will follow at Graceland Cemetery in Albion, Illinois.
