Ted Richard Dominguez, 54, a resident of Apple Valley, died Sunday, Nov. 23, 2003 in Apple Valley. He was born on Oct. 25, 1949 in Barstow. Ted graduated from Barstow High School in 1967. He served in the United States Army from 1970 to 1972 and was honorably discharged as SP4. He earned his Bachelor of Science Degree and a Master's Degree in business management from the University of Redlands. While attending Barstow College and Azusa Pacific, he played football and baseball. He played men's major fastpitch softball for 15 years and won the Men's Fastpitch World Tournament in 1984. He also went to the Big League Baseball World Series in 1967. During his career, Ted was employed at GTE fro 20 years and retired from XO Communications as a Director of Communication in 2001. His hobbies included fishing, history, and spending time with his family. Ted is survived by his mother, Eloisa Dominguez of Barstow, and preceded in death by his father, Telesfor Dominguez. Other survivors include his son, Andrew Dominguez and his wife, Sabrina, of La Verne; brothers, Pat Dominguez and his wife, Virginia, Mike Dominguez and his wife, Liz, and David of Barstow; sisters, Debbie Dominguez Der and her husband, Micheal Der, of Victorville, and Barbara Baca and her husband Congressman, Joe Baca, of Rialto; grandchildren, Jacob Dominguez, Alex Cummings and a grandson, due Jan. 15, 2004; nine nieces and nephews; five great-nieces and nephews and one due Jan. 12, 2004.
