A former resident of New Hartford, he is survived by his wife, Deborah Garde of Woodstock, GA; two daughters, Kimberly Pelitier of Burlington, and Pamela Garde of Manchester; and a son, Ronald T. Garde, Jr. of West Hartford. He was
predeceased by his mother and father, Helen Grady Garde and Stuart Garde, both residents of Hartford.
A veteran of the Korean Conflict, he served with the U.S. Army Military Police.
