Virginia was the second child of five children and the eldest daughter born to Jacob S. Chupp and Wanda Toliver Chupp. Virginia married Charles Ernest ELLIOTT, Jr. They had 1 son named Donald Ernest (1936-2007) and 1 daughter named Janet Ann Elliott Hughey (b. 1939) who survives in Indiana.

Virginia was married three more times after Charles divorced her around 1939 and left for California. He became a preacher, married again and had another family.

Virginia's second husband was Raymond "Harry" KNOLL, who helped her raise her young children.

Her third husband was Dallas LEATHERMAN whom she married in November 1977. They were married four years until he died in 1981 of a sudden heart attack while they were vacationing in Florida.

Virginia's fourth husband was Francis "Bud" MILLER whom she preceded in death. Virginia was a homemaker and had also worked a period of time at Switches Inc. as an assembler, retiring in 1977. She had also worked for Ball Band in Mishawaka. She enjoyed cooking, sewing, playing the organ, and making crafts. She loved to knit and crochet. She made all of her grandchildren crocheted afghans. She loved her family and had many friends. She was the best Gram anyone could ever ask for! She awaits her loved ones in Heaven now...and is making us all her famous Butterhorn rolls! Virginia is buried with her fourth husband, Bud, in Violett Cemetery in Goshen, Indiana.
