Milton L. Morgan, Retired Farmer, is Called by Death

Milton L. Morgan, 85, a resident of Hunt County most of his life, and one of the best known men in this section, died unexpectedly at 12:40 o’clock this afternoon at his home, 1414 Wesley St. Mr. Morgan, who had been in ill health for some time, suffered a heart attack about 10 o’clock this morning.

Plans for the funeral services had not been completed this afternoon. The arrangements are in charge of the Gray-Sorrells Funeral Home. The body will rest at the family home.

A native of Honey Grove in Fannin County, Milton Luther Morgan was born November 7, 1866, and was the son of Bazella Morgan and Mary Morgan. He moved to Hunt County at an early age and had lived in this county most of his life, having engaged in farming. He was retired at the time of his death.

Mr. Morgan was a conscientious Christian and had been a member of the Baptist Church in the Whiterock community for many years.

Survivors include three sons, C.E. Morgan, L.R. Morgan, and M.L. Morgan, Jr., all of Greenville; a daughter, Mrs. M.A. Woodard, also of Greenville; three grandchildren, a sister, Mrs. Betty Williams of Anson, Texas, and other relatives. His wife, the former Hester Bridges to whom he was married on September 4, 1892, died on October 26, 1838 (sic).

Rites Held for Milton L Morgan

Funeral services were held at 3 o’clock this afternoon at the White Rock Baptist Church for Milton L. Morgan, 85, longtime resident of Hunt County who died suddenly Tuesday at his home, 1414 Wesley Street. The Rev. Fred Moore and the Rev. Robert Baldridge conducted the services and burial was in the Old Concord cemetery at Jacobia.

Pallbearers were Walden Prince, Vernon Green, Guy Atherton, Homer Deweese, Byron Shields. ?.O. Tidwell and Ben Billington.
