Augustus Keyser, 78, native of Creston, died Sunday at a San Luis Obispo hospital following a brief illness.
He was born Dec. 8, 1889 in Creston and had been employed by Union Oil Co. there for 25 years.. Prior to that he had farmed in the Creston area, and for the past five years had resided in Los Osos.
He was a member of the Paso Robles Masonic Lodge, the World War I Post of the American Legion in Paso Robles and a life member of the San Francisco Bible Breakfast Club.
He is survived by his wife Margaret of Los Osos; two sons, Agustus Keyser of Los Osos and Elza (Bud) Keyser of the U. S. Navy; three daughters -- Mrs. Rosa Miller of Sacramento, Mrs. Earlyn Steinle of Brea, and Mrs. Dorothy Holman of San Miguel; two brothers --Elza Keyser of Miramonte and Vinton Webster of Australia; 15 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
Interment will be in the Paso Robles District Cemetery.
