Etta married George Thomas Blackett on June 26, 1882 in Nephi, Utah. They became parents to three children: Anna Maud, George Walter, and Leonard. George died in 1890. Etta married George's older brother, Edward William. They became parents to three children: Ernest, Edward Shirley, and Lillian Leona. Thomas died in 1898.

Obituary from The Salt Lake Tribune (Salt Lake City, UT) - Tuesday, February 19, 1935:
NEPHI - Etta Elizabeth Sparks Blackett, 72, widow of George Blackett, died at the family residence Monday. Funeral services will be held in the LDS South Ward Chapel Thursday at 2 p.m. Interment will be under the direction of the Anderson funeral home, Nephi.
Mrs. Blackett was born in England on June 29, 1862, a daughter of Thomas and Priscilla Sparks. She was married to George Blackett, who died several years ago and had since made her home in Nephi.
She is survived by four sons and daughters, Mrs. W.H. Sperry, Ernest and E.S. Blackett, Nephi, and Leonard Blackett, Wells, Nevada; three sisters, Mrs. Anna Groesbeck, California; Mrs. Sadie Crowther and Mrs. Priscilla Tackrell, Salt Lake City.
Mrs. Blackett was a member of the Service Star Legion at the time of her death and had taken an active part in the Republican Club and in church activities in Nephi.
