Mrs. Nancy Rebecca Brock, daughter of John and Anna Brock was born December 11, 1856 in Tiffin, Ohio. She was united in marriage to Thomas Shupp June 8, 1878.

To this union were born eight children: Milton, Elta, and Chancy, who have made their home with their mother; Guy who died in infancy, Verney of Lake Odessa, Mrs. Edna Winey, Mrs. Alice Haskins, and Mrs. Pearl Carter, all of whom live near. Mr. and Mrs. Shupp came to Michigan in 1879 settling in Odessa township. Mr. Shupp passed away March 10, 1913.

Mrs. Shupp was a member of the South Berlin Aid society, which organization she has served as president for several years. She was also a member of Central Methodist church, joining in the year 1896 under the ministry of Rev. A. E. North. Her interest in the church and spiritual things never waned and she was a constant blessing to all who knew her. She passed quietly away at her home on Monday, April 5, at the advanced age of eighty years.

Besides her children she leaves a sister-in-law Mrs. Maude Brock of Saranac, seven grandchildren and three great-grandchildren, several nieces and nephews, and a host of friends.

The funeral was held at the Methodist church Thursday afternoon, the Rev. Leon W. Manning officiating. Miss Virginia Goodsell accompanied by Mrs. Thomas Johnson sang appropriate numbers. Burial was at Lakeside.
