Joe Don Bolton, 77, died Monday, November 28, 2011 at Fisher County Hospital. Services will be 2:00 p.m. Thursday, December 1, 2011 at Weathersbee-Ray Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will follow at Roby Cemetery under the direction of Weathersbee-Ray Funeral Home.
Born July 31, 1934 in Sylvester, TX, Don was the son of the late Carl andOra (Melton)Bennett).
Don graduated from Roby High School in 1952 and entered the Army serving from 1958-1960. He was in the 101st Airborne and stationed in Puerto Rico.
He married Audra Ann (Cobb) on December 19, 1953 in Roby.
Don lived various places throughout Texas and Kentucky moving back to Roby in 1994.
He owned and serviced Bolton Insurance Agency, Roby Insurance Agency and Austin-Bolton Insurance in Hamlin.
In his spare-time he liked to tinker with his cars and stayed busy with numerous projects. Don also enjoyed playing golf and working in his yard.
He was a member of the Church of Christ in Roby.
He is preceded in death by his parents, wife Audra in 2009, one sister (Carlene Moore) and one brother-in-law, (Ramon Moore).
Don is survived by three sons, Donald Lynn Bolton of Roby, Mark Douglas Bolton of Roby and Alan Wayne Bolton of Roby; a daughter, Pamela Kaye Palmer of Houston two sisters and a brother-in-law, Tommie Kinsey of Rotan and Sandra and Cliff Vlasin of Roby; three grandchildren, Brad Palmer, Jr., Jennifer Palmer-Meyer and her husband Kris and Leslie Gail Bolton-Chaney and her husband Jared and seven great-grandchildren.
