He was the son of William and Nellie Cornelious Groves.
William has lived in Oklahoma City for the past 59 years, moving here from Anadarko.
He enjoyed golfing, playing poker, and helped start the motorcycle club, "Okie Wheels."
William served his country with the United States Navy.
He is survived by two sons, Shelden Groves, Curtis and his wife Christine Groves; one daughter, Sandy and her husband John Baker; one sister, Mildred Payton; several grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.
William was preceded in death by his parents; and one brother, Alvie.
Services were held at the Advantage Funeral Home Chapel in Oklahoma City.
