--He married #1 Henrietta Henley on August 6, 1890. They had 8 children: Henry Thomas, William Luther, Jonas E., Lula Frances, Joseph, Lindsey Munroe, Maddie Bell, and Sally Blackwelder. His wife Henrietta had 3 children by her first marriage to a Whitaker who lived with the family. In the 1900 census, these 3 are mistakenly listed as Blackwelder when in fact they were Whitakers.
--He married #2 Lucy Garrison on Feb. 26, 1919.
--Cause of death: he died of head injuries suffered when he fell from a ladder in a cotton mill.
