Curtis Gene "Curt" Underwood, Jr.,

Canton, MS: Curtis Gene "Curt" Underwood, Jr., 50 died November 28, 2011 at the Greenwood Leflore Hospital from complications of diabetes. Funeral services are 11 A.M. Thursday December 1, 2011 at Wilson & Knight Funeral Home with Dr. Jim Phillips officiating. Interment will be in Evergreen Cemetery in North Carrollton, MS. Visitation is Thursday from 10- 11 A.M. at the funeral home.

A native of Leflore County, Curt was a graduate of Greenwood High School and earned his B.A. degree from Ole Miss. He was a member of the Phi Kappa Psi Fraternity at Ole Miss. He was currently employed with Nissan in Canton, and was formerly employed by First Greenwood Bank (Sunburst) and had been a safety director for the Standard Construction Company. Curt was a member of North Greenwood Baptist Church.

Curt was happiest when he was fishing with his father on Grenada Lake and hunting with his family and friends at Boom Boom Room Hunting Club. He loved listening to all types of music. His two precious grandchildren were the light of his life and in his thoughts daily.

Survivors include his daughter Anna Katherine Ware and her husband Anthony of Aberdeen, MS, his parents Curtis and Shirley Underwood of Gore Springs, MS, a brother Kevin Underwood of Ridgeland, MS, a sister Kimberly Ann O'Bryant and her husband Anthony of Cruger, MS, two grandchildren, Kaylie Grace Ware and Nolan Earl Ware both of Aberdeen, MS a niece, Andie O'Bryant and a nephew, Owen O'Bryant both of Cruger, MS.

Pallbearers are Mike Anthony, Byron O'Bryant, Jeff Dunn, Jim Campbell, David Gladden, Ronnie Peoples and Greg Watkins. Honorary pallbearers are Clay Dockery, Robert Wood and his fraternity brothers.
