Jean Waller Strickland, 86, of Dawson passed away on Wednesday, November 2, 2011 at Phoebe Sumter Medical Center.
Jean was born in Dawson on February 9, 1925 to the late Johnnie E. Waller and the late Susie L. Martin Waller. She graduated from Dawson High School and was a lifetime resident of the community. She was employed as Society Editor for the Dawson News, where she worked for many years. Jean was a longtime member of the Dawson United Methodist Church and a member of the Epworth Sunday School class.
Preceding her in death were her parents; her husband, Robin C. Strickland; her daughter, Diane S. Blankenship; brother, Johnnie E. Waller II; and sisters, Iris Lane, Byrnelle Hudson and Lois Lawhorne.
