Had lived All of His Life In and Near White Pigeon
(Special to the Journal)
White Pigeon, Dec. 5- Festus D. Lampman, 76 died at his home here this morning after and illness of five months. He was born in LaGrange County on June 18, 1858 and spent his early years on farm near Shipshewana. He came to Michigan in 1900 and stayed in the state for five years at eh end of which time he returned to Indiana for 15 years. He returned to this vicinity in 1920 and has resided here since. He married May Ellen Hubbard of Shipshewana on Nov. 12, 1885. He was a farmer, and a member of the Episcopal Church in Howe.
The funeral rites will be conducted Friday morning at ten o'clock in the home by Re. H. M. Laws of Sturgis. Burial will be in the Bethel Cemetery southeast of Shipshewana.
Mr. Lampman is survived by his widow; sons, Dr. Fred A. Lampman of Elkhart and Cassius Lampman of St. Louis, and grandchildren, ShIrley Jane and Peggy Ann Lampman of St. Louis and Mary Catherine Lampman of Elkhart.
