Mrs. Almary McCubbins, daughter of James and Malinda Dobson, was born April 29, 1845, near Summersville, Ky. She was married on Feb 9, 1882 to William F. McCubbins, who had 7 children. To this union were born 5 children, William L., John M., Other L., Hattie and Herbert all living to mourn her death. Her husband died Nov 19, 1895, of cancer of the stomach. Her oldest child, being but 13 years of age, she made a living for herself and family by weaving and knitting, until the children were old enough to support themselves. Twice she suffered the loss of her home and her furniture by fire and after the last time she went in the fall of 1916 to live with her oldest son William L., moving to Illinois with him in 1924. She leaves 17 grandchildren and one great-grandchild and one brother. She died Jan 11, 1931. Her body was taken to her old home and laid to rest in the Mt. Tabor Cemtery near Hodgenville, Kentucky.
She went by a variety of names: Almarry, Almary, Marry, Almira & Al Mary.
She married William F. McCubbins 9 Feb 1882 in KY.
At the time of her death, she was a resident of Beason, Logan Co., Illinois.
