In the 1930 LaRue County Census, Buffalo district, Arthur Abell was family 127. He was 49 and his wife, Jessie, was 48. The children were: Mathew, 13; and Austin, age 8 years.
In 1940 when the census was taken, Austin and Willie Madge were living at home.
LaRue Co. Herald News 21 Jan 1965: Arthur Abell, age 86 years, retired LaRue County farmer, died Monday at Lynnhurst Nursing home in Etown following several months illness. Surviving are three daughters, Mrs. Homer Underwood, Mrs. Harvey Thompson and Mrs. Eugene Falker, all of Louisville and three sons, E. J. and Austin Abell, of Louisville and Matthew Abell of Phoenix, Arizona. Buried in Mt. Tabor Cemetery.
