She was born in Plymouth, England, the daughter of Thomas Richards and Mary Ann Richards. She married Frederick Charles Quick (1882-1959) and had four daughters: Winifred, Phyllis, Vivian and Virginia. Jane with her two older daughters survived the sinking of the famous Titanic on April 14/15 1912.
