(A long article describing an accident on Thurs. afternoon last week in which Christian(sic) Schroeder was getting into his buggy to return to his office following lunch at home when the horse started up before he was fully seated and he was thrown to the ground suffering injuries to his head and shoulder.)

In spite of medical help his condition worsened and he died of his injuries on Sunday morning.

Mr. Schroeder was born 15 Aug. 1831 in Bülow, Mecklenburg. He came to America in 1856 and settled in Manitowoc where he entered the employ of the Goodrich Transportation Co., most recently serving as superintendent of the local woodworking shop.

Mr. Schroeder was married two times and is survived by his second wife and 3 sons.

In his honor the Goodrich ships have flown their flags at half mast as well as many other local establishments. The funeral was held yesterday afternoon at the city cemetery.

**********

The mortal remains of Christopher Schroeder were tenderly laid to rest in Evergreen cemetery this afternoon.

A large concourse of soarowing (sic) friends had gathered to pay a last tribute to the memory of the departed, and the local lodges, Sons of Hermann and I.O.O.F., both of which deceased was an honored member, attended the services in a body.

The floral tributes were numerous and very beautiful, a number being received from officals of the Goodrich line. Rev. Rogne conducted the services and a large funeral cortege followed the remains to their last resting place.

The pall bearers were D.B. Bleser, H. Eichmann, H. Levenhagen, G. Mueller, W. Echtenacher, H. Vits.
