     CALDWELL Services are pending for Harris Brooks, 82, of Hallway, Ore., who died Monday night in the home of a stepson at Moses Lake, Wash.
     Mr. Brooks was born Feb. 4, 1881, in Cuyler, N. Y., and was married in New York in October, 1902, to Helen Bell. They moved to Boise in 1911 from New York in an emigrant train, later moving to Mesa Orchard, where he helped to plant 1200 acres of apple trees. Mrs. Brooks died May 6, 1925. He was married Jan. 22, 1930, in Weiser to Mrs. Mabel Turner. They lived at Mesa Orchard until 1935; homesteaded on the Owyhee project in Malheur County and farmed until 1941; was an instructor at a sheet metal school in Ontario in 1941; moved to Seattle in 1942 and instructed in sheet metal work at Boeing Aircraft plant until 1946; moved to New York and lived until 1949; moved to Arizona and worked for Arizona Grand Central Aircraft Company, until 1952; homesteaded at Moses Lake and lived there three years; spent two years at Homedale, until 1957; and lived two years at Wilder and two years at Baker, Ore., before moving to Halfway in 1961.
     He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Mabel Brooks; three sons, William of Phoenix, Ariz., Harris, Jr., of Tacoma, Wash., and Howard Brooks in Hawaii; a daughter, Mrs. Alice Cederberg of Boise; two stepsons, John Turner of Middleton and George Turner of Moses Lake; two stepdaughters, Mrs. Nora Perkel of Homedale and Mrs. Violet Bybee of Los Angeles; two sisters, Mrs. Nettie Baldwin and Mrs. Myrtie Brown, both in New York, and six grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren. Two sons and a stepson preceded him in death.
     The Peckham - Dakan - Davis Chapel will arrange services.
