Stone has his wife's name on it as well and the date 1850 - the year his wife died (1 year after the marriage). It is surrounded by an iron fence with a gate and while I was there, I smelled roses in November. Very odd.

Born in Newport, Sullivan, New Hampshire, USA on 19 Dec 1815 to Erastus Baldwin and Lucy Church. Henry Erastus married Marcia L Gilmore. He passed away on 12 Feb 1855 in Washington, District Of Columbia, USA.

Designer, engraver, and Secretary to President Pierce. Clerk of the NH Senate and also was a Editor for the Argus and Lowell Advertiser. In Newport NH, he was also the Registrar of Deeds and Probate for Sullivan County. He also created the engraving for Newport, NH and a political cartoon in 1839 for Whip & Spur. Only 40 when he died, he never remarried after his wife's death in 1850.
