Dawn M. Chandler-Boye (nee Sweeting), age 36, of Neenah, formerly of Shawano, passed away on Tuesday morning, Jan. 19, 2010 at her home, following a seven-year battle with cancer.
Dawn was born on March 13, 1973 in New York, N.Y., a daughter of John and Sylvia (Sweeting) Baird. She moved to Shawano in 1982 and graduated from Shawano High School in 1991. Following high school, she was employed in the Shawano area. At the time of her illness, Dawn was a student at Fox Valley Technical College, pursuing her goal of becoming a Reservationist for the airlines. She is a member of Living Vine Baptist Church in Neenah. Her hobbies included travelling, reading, camping and collecting lucky Chinese masks.
Survivors include: four children, Tara Pratt, Amanda Baird, Turner Van Lannen and Trever Pratt; her parents, John and Sylvia Baird of Shawano; two brothers, Russ (Tracy) Chandler of Appleton and Johnnie Chandler of Menasha; her grandfather, Cubell Sweeting of the Bahamas; six aunts and uncles, two nieces and one nephew; numerous relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her maternal grandmother, Elvera Sweeting and her paternal grandmother, Wilma Baird.
Funeral services for Dawn will be held on Sunday, Jan. 24 at 6 p.m. at the Living Vine Baptist Church, 402 Commercial St. in Neenah. Pastor Rick Crampton will officiate. Interment will be Monday, Jan. 25, at 10 a.m. in the Shawano County Cemetery. ...
