Mrs. Phoeba Akers, who died last week at the home of her daughter Mrs. Dodson on Cripple Creek was ninety-seven years of age. She was the mother of eleven children, eighty-five grandchildren, two hundred and thirty-five great grandchildren and twenty-two great grandchildren. She had been a member of the Methodist Episcopal Church, South, fifty-five years. Funeral services were conducted by the Rev. J. W. Helvey, and the body was interred in St. Peter's cemetery.
