Mrs. Riser was born April 1, 1859 in Winn Parish. She was Sarah Elizabeth Thigpen
before her marriage. On November 26, 1878 she was married to Daniel Cicero Riser.
She has been blind for forty years. She was a member of the Shady Grove Baptist
Church.
Mrs. Riser was the mother of ten children, four of whom survive her, Mrs. Ona Davis,
Olla; Mrs. Cora Pace and Mrs. Lula Ford, Sikes; Mrs. Linnie Kinnison of Clarks.
She is also survived by five grandchildren and two great grandchildren and one
brother, Mr. Soly Thigpen of Rayville.
