The funeral will be at 11 a.m. Friday at Bethesda United Methodist Church, where she was a member, by the Rev. Doug Hochmuth and Brother David Hedrick. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
Mrs. Wood was born Feb. 9, 1954, in Forsyth County to William Harold Casey and Dorothy Walker Casey. She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband, Glenn Donald "Donny" Wood. She was employed by Lynhurst OBGYN.
Surviving are her son, William Troy Wood and his wife, Sara, of Lexington; one granddaughter, Madelyn Grace Wood of Lexington; two brothers, Garry Casey and his wife, Diane, and Alan Casey, all of Lexington; one niece, Crystal Marshall and her husband, David, of Elizabethton, Tenn.; and a great-nephew, Zackary Marshall of Tennessee.
Memorials may be made to Bethesda United Methodist Church Family Life Center, 2922 Bethesda Road, Lexington NC 27295 or to Hospice and Palliative Care of Forsyth County, 101 Hospice Lane, Winston-Salem, NC 27107.
The family would like to extend heartfelt thanks to Dr. Eugene Pashold and his staff for the excellent care given to Paulette during her illness.
