He was born Jan. 15, 1930, in Surry County, to the late Jeff and Annie Johnson Pack.
Mr. Pack was a farmer and a member of Brown Mountain Baptist Church.
He is survived by his wife of 53 years, Iva Holt Pack; four daughters and sons-in-law: Ruby and William Beasley, Judy and Ted Cox, Frances and Bobby Leonard, Shelby and Danny Sawyers, all of Westfield; four sons and daughters-in-law: Roger and Wanda Holt of Mount Airy, Bobby and Robin Pack of Westfield, Ronnie Pack of Mount Airy, and Randy and Rita Pack of Westfield; 15 grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; a sister and brother-in-law, Hazel and Claude Kirby of King; and a special niece, Mary Holt.
Mr. Pack was preceded in death by his stepmother, Emma H. Pack; two sisters; two brothers; two stepbrothers; and a grandson.
The funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 8, 2002, at Brown Mountain Baptist Church conducted by the Rev. Raymond Needham. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 this evening at Cox-Needham Funeral Home.
