Ann Lecount, daughter of John Lecount and Hannah Ferris, was born May 10, 1799, (according to the Lecount family Bible) probably in New Rochelle, Westchester County, New York. She died January 20, 1850, in Phillipstown, Putnam County, New York, aged 50 years, 8 months and 10 days, and was buried in the Old Cold Spring Cemetery, Cold Spring, Putnam County, New York. (Buys) Her brother John H. Le Count, in a one page autobiography in which he named his brothers and sisters, listed her as Nancy. This leaves the possibility that her name may have been Nancy Ann LeCount.

A birth date of July 4, 1798, was obtained for Nancy LeCompt from the book "Thomas Davenport and His Descendants." Nancy was also the name of Charles Mekeel's second wife.

In about 1817, Ann was united in marriage to Charles Mekeel. Charles was born December 14, 1796, in Phillipstown, Dutchess County, New York, son of Thomas Mekeel and Abigail Sawyer. He died March 4, 1879, at Nelsonville, New York, aged 82 years, 2 months and 20 days. His place of burial is unknown. Their children were: Susan, b. 24 May 1818; Stephen, b. 19 Jan 1827; Samuel John, b. 1829; Caleb, b. 1830; & Peter Mekeel, b. 2 May 1839.

In about 1852, Charles was united in marriage to Nancy ____________. Nancy was born in about 1812/1815. Her name appears as Nancy in the 1860, 1870 and 1880 U.S. Census Reports. Their one known child born in Phillipstown, was, Albert A. Mekeel, born about 1852.
