Maxine was born on May 30, 1919 in London, MN to Swan H. and Dena S. (Holte) Haldorson. She was born and raised in her house in London, MN and attended school there too. Maxine married Walter C Amacher at the Trondhjem Lutheran Church and was a homemaker many years. She moved to the Oaks in 1986 and enjoyed spending playing cards and volunteering her time at Trondhjem Lutheran Church. Maxine also belonged to the Moose Lodge, Eagles and the American Legion. One of her hobbies was making quilts and she donated hundreds of them to the Primary Children's Hospital in Salt Lake City, UT.
Survivors in her daughter; Diane (Martin Farber) Amacher of Salt Lake City, UT. And her son; Walt (Jacquie) Amacher of Omaha, Neb.; two grandchildren; Mark Amacher and Eric Amacher; two great grandchildren; Austyn and Zaiden. She was preceded in death by her husband, parents and a brother, Oliver.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, November 30, 2011 at the Trondhjem Lutheran Church, 87740 - 170th St, Austin, MN 55912 with Pastor Katie Fick. officiating. Interment will follow the service in Trondhjem Cemetery. Visitation will be held for one hour prior to the service at the church.
