Martin Brion

Martin F. Brion, 85, of Mondovi, passed away Sunday, April 6, 2003, at Sacred Heart Hospital in Eau Claire. He was born on April 7, 1917, in the town of Frankfort, Pepin Co., Wis., to Louis and Amanda (Schultz) Brion.
He was a graduate of Arkansaw High School. He married Wilma Swiggum on October 12, 1940, in Mondovi. Martin was employed by Standard Oil Co. in Mondovi for 16 years. He later was a custodian for the Mondovi School District for 22 years. He retired in 1982. He was a member of Central Lutheran Church in Mondovi.
Martin enjoyed fishing, hunting, and collecting items of Mondovi history.
He is survived by his wife, Wilma Brion of Mondovi; one son, Jerry Brion of Mondovi; one sister-in-law, Wilma Brion of Fountain Valley, Calif.; and one brother-in-law, Walt Swiggum of Mondovi.
He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Leonard and Edward Brion; and one sister, Evelyn Bennett.
Services will be held on Wednesday April 9, 2003, at 10:30 a.m. at Central Lutheran Church in Mondovi with Rev. James Tallman officiating. Burial will be at the Riverside Lutheran Cemetery.
Friends may call today from 4 to 8 p.m. at the Kjentvet-Smith Funeral Home in Mondovi and on Wednesday for one hour before the service at the church.

On October 12, 1940 he married Wilma C. Swiggum in Mondovi, Wisconsin.
