Harlan Douglas Allen, a resident of Dewar, passed from this life on Saturday, November 26, 2011 in Henryetta at the age of 81. Harlen was born on September 6, 1930 in Hope, Arkansas to William Monroe Allen and Doris June Owen Allen. Harlan grew up and attended school in Arkansas, then later began his working career in California. Throughout the years, he worked as a machinist. Harlan was involved in several startup business opportunities throughout his working career including his ownership in a service station in Prescott, Arkansas and in operating his own machine shop. He retired in 1990 from Fisher Products in Tulsa after several years of employment there. He is remembered as a kind and giving man who loved his family deeply. He is preceded in death by both his mother and his father; by 2 brothers, Howard Allen and Willard Allen; by 2 sisters, Delores Morton and Allene Draley; and by a step-daughter, Lynette Brian. Graveside Funeral Services will be held on Tuesday, November 29, 2011 at 11:00am at New Sonora Cemetery with Rev. Jonathan Neely officiating. Burial will follow immediately under the direction of Integrity Funeral Service of Henryetta.
