Georgia Whipple

Georgia L. Whipple of Eugene died Nov. 25 of age-related causes. She was 92. A private celebration of life is planned.

She was born July 20, 1919, in Hepp­ner to Zenes and Lydia Cowins Martin. She was married to Granville Ball from 1936 to 1949, to Floyd Ambrose from 1951 to 1963 and to Mitch Whipple from 1966 until his death in 1978.

She graduated from high school in Heppner. She worked for Southern Pacific Railroad for 31 years.

Survivors include a daughter, Sandra Emerson of Eugene; five sons, Richard Ball and Buddy Ball, both of Salem, Jerry Ambrose, of Eugene, and David Ambrose of Pleasant Hill; eight grand­children; 12 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren. A son, Bobby Ball, died in 2001.

Burial will be at Rest Lawn Cemetery in Junction City. Arrangements by Sunset Hills Cemetery, Funeral Home & Crematorium in Eugene.

Remembrances may be sent to the Humane Society.
