GOSHEN. John M. Wadhams, 67, of Old Middle Street, died Feb. 6, 2002 at Litchfield Woods Health Care in Torrington. He was the husband of Nancy Rose Wadhams.
Mr. Wadhams was born July 23, 1934 in Torrington, the son of the late John M. Wadhams, III and Sela Frost Wadhams.
He graduated from Cornell University School of Agriculture in 1955, and served with the U.S. Army for two years. From 1957 and 1964, he ran the family farm in Goshen where he still live. In 1964 he went to work for the Connecticut Department of Consumer Protection as a pesticide inspector , returning in the early 1990s. He was active in Goshen as a member of the Board o Assessors, the Republican Town Committee, and the Goshen Agriculture Society, where he held several positions, and the Church of Christ Congregational.
He was a corporator and board of trustee member of the Torrington Savings Bank and a member of Seneca Lodge A F and A M in Torrington, as well as the Sphinx Temple, Shriners and the Torrington Lodge BPOE.
In additions to his wife, he is survived by two stepchildren, Andree Michele Stone of Cornwall on the Hudson, NY and Gene Alan Stone of Atlanta, Ga, three sisters, Barbara W. Youngbluth of Homestead, Florida, Ann W. Cobran of West Hartford, and Sela W. Barker of North Haven.
