Scientist. A native of Salt Lake City, Utah, he was born Grover Sanders Krantz, on November 5, 1931. A noted anthropologist he was an expert on the 'Bigfoot' phenomena. He later grew up in Rockford, Illinois, and moved back to Utah at the age of 10. He later studied at the University of Utah where he received a B.A. in 1955, Univeristy of California where he received an M.A. in 1958, and the University of Minnesota in 1971 where he received a PH.D. with a concentration in human evolution. He later became an anthropologist at Washington State University for nearly 40 years, where he argued for probable evidence of the existence of 'Bigfoot,' by means of trying to capture one for study, but with no success, he was not able to convince many scientists. Krantz wrote several books and papers on the subject including, "The Scientist Looks At The Sasquatch" (1977), "The Scientist Looks At The Sasquatch II" (1979), "Climatic Races And Descent Groups" (1980), "The Antiquity Of Race" (1981, 1994, and 1998), "The Sasquatch And Other Unknown Hominoids" (1984), "Geographical Development Of European Language" (1988), "The Process Of Human Evolution" (1992 and 1995), "Big Footprints" (1992), "Bigfoot Sasquatch Evidence" (1999). He was also featured in the 'Bigfoot documentaries, "Bigfoot: Man Or Beast?" (1971), and "Sasquatch Odyssey: The Hunt For Bigfoot" (1999). Krantz passed away on February 14, 2002, at the age of 70 of pancreatic cancer in Port Angeles, Washington.
